Just noticed in a story on DS:

Quote:
Asked if the Save & Replace tasks, which give a nominated housemates the chance to put another contestant in their position to face the public vote, will occur every week, [Phil Edgar] Jones said: "That's the plan. I think it's pretty dramatic stuff and gives the game bit of BB more jeopardy"

Don't know about this to be honest. On one hand, it makes the notion of groups in the house mass nominating the same people rather redundant since that'll just guarantee that one of them will end up facing the vote instead. On the other, it dilutes perhaps the key aspect of the show. Im sure there'll be times when well miss out on classic eviction battles when 2 HMs whove been at loggerheads all week both get put up for the public to decide only for one of them to be replaced by some wallpaper HM instead. And of course, there's always the highly probable chance of BB setting a task to the strengths of whoever they fancy keeping in a few weeks more.

Of course, BB can change the rules of the save and replace task every week, which might make it more interesting but I was very irritated that Dave was saved last week. A wallpaper HM went instead, but sometimes, I think there's a danger that crapola HMs like Dave could end up getting a free pass to the final thanks to S&R

Well I wonder if it has been done to try to stop the entertaining housemates being kicked out first, like often happens, then the programme gets boring. Quite often anyone who has caused any conflict at all or been a bit annoying gets nominated first and then gets evicted by the public, so that we end up with quiet housemates who don't do much and then everyone claims that it is boring, so I think this idea could help to stop that happening.

I like the idea. It's different.

It gives a nominated housemate the chance to save themselves and it is fun watching them do it.
Now that BB have started this S&R task I think it needs to continue until the last five housemates are left.

The unsubtle bias of the last task towards saving Shabby wasn't lost on me. Dave would of had to of ridden side saddle to get through the gap and ass she herself admit ed on live feed she was no stranger to skating.

But I agree with their tactics ... I would do the same .. we need the evils nastiest to stay to stir the other wanabies up. Only under adversity will we get a good winner rather than the inflatable vicious doll one we had last year.
