SHOPPING TASK: INTERNATIONAL JOKE DAY

For this week's shopping task, Housemates will laugh along with the world as they celebrate International Joke Day.
The shopping task consists of 5 challenges. If Housemates successfully pass 3 or more of the 5 challenges they will receive a premium shopping budget. If Housemates fail 3 or more of the 5 challenges they will receive an economy shopping delivery.

The 5 challenges are as follows:
THERE WAS AN ENGLISHMAN, AN IRISHMAN AND A SCOTSMAN

The 3 nominated Housemates will become an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman. They will take part a joke hunt and attempt to find the punchlines to jokes hidden in three classic joke delivery systems. These are ice lollies with punchlines on the sticks, chocolate biscuits with jokes on the wrappers, and Christmas crackers containing jokes. They will have half an hour to find all three punchlines.
This is Shabby as the Scotsman, Sunshine as the Englishman and Caoimhe as the Irishman

WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?

2 Housemates will become Chickens. They will take part in an endurance challenge. They will sit inside a coop in the garden with real, live chickens. Each time a live chicken crosses the road in the coop, the Housemate Chickens must tell a 'why did the chicken cross the road?' joke, from books containing chicken jokes. One Housemate chicken must tell the joke line, and the other Housemate Chicken must give the punch line.
David and John James are the chickens.

LAUGHTER WORLD RECORD

5 Housemates will become a Nun, a Liverpudlian , a Doctor, a Waiter and a Mother-in-Law (all the butt of many a joke) They will attempt to break an unrecognised world record for continuous laughter, which currently stands at 3 hours and 6 minutes.
Corin is the Nun, Mario is the Mother-in-Law, Nathan is the Liverpudlian, Ife is the Waiter.
THE DUMB BLONDE
1 Housemate will become a Dumb Blonde. They will take part in a quiz, where they must guess the punchlines to dumb blonde jokes.
Josie chose to be the Dumb Blonde
STAND UP ROUTINE
1 Housemate will become a stand up comedian. Their costume and further instructions will arrive in due course, but until that time they must wear a sandwich board stating, 'I am a joke'..
As he failed to impress the Tree of Temptation Ben has claimed this role as part of his punishment.

A Couple of Jokers

Dave and John James have been set a marathon joke telling task by Big Brother. They are dressed as chickens, as you can see, and must remain in their chicken coup with two real chickens for twleve hours.Every time the real chickens cross the road, positioned in the middle of the coup, they must read out a chicken joke. For example this classic: Why did the chicken cross the road...? To get to the other side!Cue uproarious laughter and side splitting agony...Ch4 -video with this link

TASK: INTERNATIONAL JOKE DAY - RESULTS SO FAR

Yesterday, Housemates were set a series of tasks to celebrate International Jokes Day. They must pass three out of the five challenges in order to win a luxury shopping budget. So far, Housemates have completed four of the challenges. The only one still to complete their challenge is Ben, The Stand Up Comedian, who will receive his further instructions and costume later today.
Housemates will be informed of the following results so far this morning:
WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD
John James and Dave became Chickens and took part in an endurance joke-telling challenge. In over six hours they told 134 chicken-crossing-the-road jokes each time one of the live chickens in their chicken coop crossed the road, and incurred no fails, therefore they have passed their challenge.
LAUGHTER WORLD RECORD
Corin, Ife, Mario, Nathan and Steve became a Nun, a Waiter, a Mother-in-Law, a Liverpudlian and a Doctor, respectively, and took part in an attempt to break an unrecognised world record for continuous laughter, which stood at three hours and six minutes. All Housemates gave up on their attempt well before the record time and so they have failed this challenge.
DUMB BLONDE
Josie became a dumb blonde and took part in a quiz in the Diary Room. She had to guess the punch lines to dumb blonde jokes - out of 10 questions, Josie answered one and a bit correctly, therefore she
failed her challenge.
THERE WAS AN ENGLISHMAN, AN IRISHMAN AND A SCOTSMAN
Sunshine, Caoimhe and Shabby became an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman. They took part in a joke hunt, where they had to find the punch lines to jokes delivered through three classic joke delivery systems. First, they had to find the punch line to a joke hidden in 300 ice lollies; only one stick held the correct answer. Their second punch line was delivered through 900 chocolate bars; again, only one bar held the correct answer. Finally, they had to find the punch line to a joke hidden amongst 300 Christmas crackers; and again, there was only one correct answer. They successfully completed their challenge within the one hour time limit and therefore have passed their challenge.

As Housemates have only passed two of the challenges so far it lies with Stand Up Comedian Ben to complete his task in order for Housemates to pass this weeks shopping task.

BEN STANDS UP
Shopping Task Continued: International Joke Day
This morning the Housemates have been told that they have passed two of their five challenges and failed another two, meaning that their success in the task rests upon how Ben, the Stand Up Comedian, fares in his challenge.
Ben has just been called into the Diary Room to be given the details of his challenge. He must write a 90 second comedy routine which he will then perform in front of tonight's live eviction crowd. Ben is free to practise his routine with the other Housemates but he must write all the material himself.
Ben left the Diary Room to communicate this to his fellow housemates admitting 'I'm sh*tting myself'. Continuing with 'the boos will be at such a level that no one will hear me'.
Shabby commented 'As someone who is up for eviction tonight I really don't like it'. Adding 'he will be able to see the banners and crowd reaction'
Corin got up to give Ben a hug reassuring him with 'you've got the balls to do it haven't you Ben?', Ben nodded unconvincingly.
Steve put it in perspective with 'It's 90 seconds of your life and you come back in a f*cking winner'.
This remains to be seen. Tune in tonight at 9pm on Channel 4 to catch the first of two Big Brother shows this evening

Bob Righter Set to Strike Again!

So you all know by now that Ben will have to perform, what is sure to be, a hilarious stand-up routine in front of the eviction crowd tonight. You also know that this is the result of a punishment from the Tree of Temptation after Ben’s failed attempt to start an arm wrestling championship in the House.

However, what you don’t know is that there is another trick up Big Brother’s sleeve and it seems Ben’s punishment is far from over…

All we can tell you is that Bob Righter, the mysterious fortune telling housemate, is involved in some capacity, although it is not yet clear what his role will be.

If nothing else, one thing is for certain… it promises to be an interesting day in the House tomorrow. So, keep checking the website and stay tuned to the Live Feed to ensure you don’t miss a thing

What do you think Ben's further punishment might be? How do you think he will do with his routine tonight? Let us know below...

Ben's Shocker Wake Up: Ben's Bad Day

Image
Shortly after Sunshine's eviction last night, and after Ben gave his 'hilarious' Stand Up routine to the crowds, Bob Righter sent a message into the House saying that Ben was to have a day feeling the 'wrath of the Tree of Temptation'.
This morning, Ben was rudely awaken by having his bed elevated to become practically vertical, complete with Heavy Metal music - which he was not too pleased about!

There is also a rumour that Big Brother is going to play tricks with the water, turning his shower freezing cold.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Best of all, Big Brother is planning to give Ben a breakfast he won't forget! But Ben needn't worry, because he'll be able to work that breakfast off, boot camp style! We can't wait.
Stay tuned today to see what other tricks this cheeky Tree will have up his sleeve as he plays Havoc in the House.
