InsideBB reports:

Quote:
Channel 5 have signed up to air Big Brother next year after Channel 4 decided to drop the reality TV show after eleven series, according to insiders and internet speculation.

Earlier today, insider Jacob revealed that Channel 5 had finally signed up to air Big Brother, this comes only weeks after Express Newspapers owner Richard Desmond bought the broadcaster.

Jacob told visitors on Inside Big Brother: “In the last few days, Channel 5 has signed a contract with Remarkable Television to air the next series of Big Brother in summer 2011.”

He added: “Further series in addition to next summer’s are dependent on the ratings. There are currently no plans for C5 to revive Celebrity Big Brother but it could be brought back one day”.

On the topic of host Davina McCall moving to the channel, he said: “It’s currently unclear whether Davina will be back or not. She’s indicated that she wants to move on but there’s still plenty of time to sort this all out.”

MrMarky72 on Twitter, who has been reliable in the past with Big Brother inside information also hinted at the Channel 5 signing and also suggested that the show’s bosses want to re-locate the house.

See you next year after all then maybe? :flowerpower:

Great news, it is the best reality show on the box and it would be a shame to lose it.
I only hope Ch5 do it justice. ()^

Channel 5 close to Big Brother deal

'Big Brother' is set to return to TV screens later this year.

The reality TV show was axed by Channel 4 last summer after 10 years and 11 series but now Channel 5 bosses are set to finalise a deal with producers to bring it back.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Talks started last year. They didn't get anywhere initially, but both sides kept in touch and discussions are most definitely back on again.

"The deal hasn't been signed yet but top people are talking to each other. Watch this space."

A celebrity edition could be on air within months, while a series with everyday people is set to be broadcast on the summer of 2012.

Former host Davina McCall has backed the plans and tipped 'Big Brother's Little Brother' co-host Emma Willis to take over the presenting duties.

She said: "Emma loves the programme and is a great presenter. Any channel that picks up 'BB' would be a very lucky channel. But I think I've said goodbye."

A Channel 5 spokeswoman declined to comment on the reports.

The Daily Star Group acquired Channel 5, so it was inevitable that Big Brother and all its Z-list hype would be back.

Cue the equilivent hype of ITV2'S The Only Way is Essex. :-?

Mind you, despite the fact that Gary Bushell has to praise every single British Channel 5 programme in The Daily Star Sunday - unlike Ally Ross - it will be interesting to see how many viewers Channel 5's Big Brother actually gets because Channel 5 doesn't get very many.

Pretty good gig for Emma Griffiths if she wants it, but interesting to see if George Lamb wants the hassle.

Big Brother UK has become too juvenile for series reality TV lovers so Emma could indeed be one of the female presenters in the running for the job, I of course would love it if Ch5 got back to the BB concept and the return of the live feed with no screaming queens or scarey Mary's allowed into the compound, never mind the house.

FED-UP Cheryl Cole could sensationally snub X Factor supremo Simon Cowell by accepting a £5million deal to host a new-look Big Brother. Dailystar

Oh Brother
More dross for Channel Five

We hear the announcement that Richard Desmond
has indeed bought Big Brother for Channel 5
is imminent. So expect huge differences to the
show - like seeing future Big Brother stars
bought up on exclusive OK! contracts with
spin-off shows on Five, unlike in the past
when it was on C4. Oh.

Cheryl Cole? We wouldn't be able to understand what she was saying! Also, has she done much presenting and interviewing work? I can't really imagine her being very good at the job to be honest.
