This is very sad news

I'd also like to offer my condolences. I got to know Niina too, mainly on this board and MSN and Facebook. One deep regret is that I never met the real Niina, but it felt like I almost did. We were both going through a phase in our lives facing the same issues and so I'll always be grateful for her support. Will miss her laughs and her humour. So long hun, take care up there,

Very sorry to hear about 'Liisi'. Only knew her from posting here, mainly in games and a few pms but she always made me smile, I loved her sense of humour.

I'd like to send my deepest sympathy to her family and friends but especially to her children.

As you know Milly I've said it all on Facebook but even so here is where we all 'met' Niina and I remember her well. My heart goes out to her family at such a time. I know only too well what a terrible shock it all is. I pray everyone that knew her finds the strength they need to face each day and to begin to face life without her and that eventually some good will come out of something so terrible. So sad

Encephalitis is very serious disease and without any treatments or too late started treatment it's mortality and disable rates are really high.

But I believe that people that knew 'Liisi' at their real life will carry lovely memories in their hearts of their shared moments as well as people who knew 'Liisi' only via www .

You are right Mari and that was something we were all worried about, that Niina would survive but be very damaged. The idea of a Niina without her sharp intelligence and quick wit was just unthinkable, but we were praying for a full recovery.

I was so, so sorry to see about this on Facebook the other day. Such sad news. My thoughts are with all her family and friends. I hope you are doing okay Milly.

Terrible news and thank you Milly for taking the time to post. I remember such lovely stories about Finland. I'm sure she will be very sadly missed by her family and friends.

For those of you who might wish to spend a few minutes thinking of her, Niina's funeral is to be held on Saturday 21st August.

I'm so sorry. I was an 'old' member and I was only thinking about Liisi (Niina) the other day. I only check in once or twice a year these days. I could hardly believe it. Niina was so genuinely sweet and nice and never had a bad word to say about anyone. I'm just so very sorry.

Well it started here so I guess this is the best place to say goodbye.

Dearest Niina

Thank you for being the best friend I ever had, for listening to all my troubles and laughing at the funny times. For telling me I was a good person when I felt like the worst, for making me feel I could do anything in life and demonstrating that it was possible. I never thought I would lose you and I still can't believe that I will never see you again or hear your laughter. That I can't pick up my phone and text you with my news or read something you just did.

Rest in peace beautiful Niina, we will never ever forget you and you can never be replaced.

One day I will see you again I know. All my love always. xxxxxx
