Enjoy the silence task
Vanessa settles in to her new home
9pm on Channel 4
9:53am
All of the housemates are in the Bedroom. They are woken up by 'It's oh so quiet' by Bjork. All the housemates dance and sing along.
Brian tells Chantelle about the dream he had last night about Girls Aloud. He stops talking when he notices a chalk board table in the Living Room. Chantelle points out that this must be for Vanessa.
In the Kitchen Preston and Brian discuss Vanessa entering the house. "She looks exactly the same when she gets up as she did last night", says Brian. "It's because she doesn't wash", jokes Ulrika.
10:30am
All the housemates are in the Kitchen discussing the blackboard incident on the previous series of Big Brother. Vanessa is talking about when she entered Big Brother the last time. "Three momentous, hellish nights and four ghastly days", she says.
10:49am
Michelle and Preston are in the Garden talking about the eviction of Nadia and Makosi. "It's sad hearing your friends get booed", says Preston. Michelle agrees. "It's all a charade", he adds.
Ulrika is cleaning the Bedroom toilet whilst talking to some of the other housemates about who leaves the toilet seat up. Vanessa is cleaning the other Bathroom at the same time. "Are you two have a clean off", says Brian. Ulrika tells Vanessa she is the poshest cleaner.
Michelle is in the Diary Room talking to Big Brother about last night's events. "I'm a little bit lonely", she says adding that it was a bit of a shock. "For Nadia to leave…I really didn't expect that".
12:02pm
Vanessa is in the Diary Room discussing the shopping list. She has been provided with the list and a piece of chalk. "How does it feel to be in charge of chalk again?" asks Big Brother. "It's empowering", she says before asking if Big Brother can really trust her with some chalk. "We'll be keeping an eye on you, Vanessa", says Big Brother.
Vanessa and Ulrika start to write up the shopping list with Preston and Nikki standing by. "The apples, can they be Gala?" asks Nikki. Ulrika tells her that they don't get a choice on brand and Nikki walks off to the Bedroom.
Once the shopping list is complete Vanessa uses the remaining time to write ords such as 'optimistic' and 'positive' on the board.
2:34pm
Housemates are in the Living Room discussing Vanessa's gastric band. "Do they half your stomach", asks Vanessa. Vanessa uses a plastic bottle and elastic band to explain the process. "I think you look amazing", says Nikki.
2:46pm
Housemates are gathered at the sofa's for today's task - Enjoy the Silence. Each housemate will have to endure a separate task and make sure they stay completely silent through the whole thing. Each housemate who passed their challenge will get the chance to go to a very loud party later in the day..
In the task room the housemates are called one by one to face their challenges. All challenges are being set by Big Brother 9's Rex. He is in the task room dressed as a devil. Brian is asked to find a needle in a nettle stack, Michelle has to be tickled for three minutes by Big Brother 4's Jon Tickle, Nikki has to transfer dead fish into a bowl of ice, Ulrika has to eat wasabi and lard ice cream, Vanessa and Chantelle must play catch with a cactus, Preston has to face three minutes of wrestling holds, Nick has to crawl along a line of hairbrushes and Victor has to be fired at with a range of nasty substances followed by a cream pie. Housemates manage to remain silent passing the task.
5:32pm
Some of the housemates are in the Bedroom. Victor is snoring and Michelle watches him.
Vanessa and Brian are in the Living Room discussing being engaged. "I can't wait to be engaged", says Brian adding that he has been single after a bad break up a few years ago. "What are you looking for in a man?" asks Vanessa. "Someone who will look out for my best interests and will look after me, no matter what", says Brian. "We all want that", says Vanessa.
8:21pm
Housemates are getting ready in the Bedroom for their rock party. Chantelle is applying makeup on Preston. "Remember when we used to do this at home?" asks Chantelle. The rest of the housemates laugh.
Ulrika is in the Diary Room talking to Big Brother about Vanessa. "She's chatty and prepared to get stuck in and involved", she says.
9:36pm
Some of the housemates are in the Living Room. Nikki offers to swap beds with Vanessa. "Because I'm half your size", she says before realising that what she meant was that she has the double bed and is the smallest in the house.
10:08pm
The housemates are dancing around in the Living Room. Big Brother announces that the shopping has been delivered and they all go to the store room. The housemates realise that items such as sweets and fizzy drinks are missing.
In the Bedroom Preston tells Chantelle that Ulrika and Vanessa must have overspent on the shopping for things to be missing. "I'm scared", says Chantelle commenting that she doesn't want to be the one to tell Nick he has no fizzy drinks.
11:21pm
Some of the housemates are in the Bedroom. "I get a bad aura from that bed", says Nikki. She decides she wants to swap with Vanessa. "But Vanessa has put clean sheets on her bed", says Michelle. Nikki goes to talk to Vanessa. "It's just not good for me", says Nikki of her own bed. Vanessa comments that she wouldn't want to sleep next to Ulrika. Nikki pushes the swap and says she wants to be high up so that she can see everyone. Ulrika says she should stay where she is.
