Lol Christine! Procrastinating is one of the few "big" words I use on a regular basis funnily enough... went on facebook half an hour ago or so and judging by all the status updates/comments being left, most of my year would be getting a first class honours in procrastination no bother. ::lol::

Right now getting mentally geared up for tomorrow's trip! Here we go. . .

It is funny thinking back to going on school trips when you were young having been on the other side.

RN I've just paired a PS3 BlueTooth headset with my new LG Phone. Works well audio is very clear both in the earphone and on the calling phone.

I've set it to answer after 5 seconds. The idea is to use it in the car as unlike the old Nokia there isn't a proper hands free kit. I've got a mount with a charger on it's way but total hands free is required for incoming calls.

And unless someone can think of a use for a proper in-car kit with external aerial for a Nokia 7110e including the phone that still works ,but the battery contacts are a bit dodgy and it will turn off if it knocked around too much, it will land up being recycled. The on-line sites that buy old phones won't offer more than £1 though most don't have the model listed.

RN I'm attempting to create and burn my first Blu-Ray disk.
I've been trying to create a AVCHD DVD (Blu9) which is Blu-ray compatible but on a DVD ,and although I can get playback on the PC the player won't play the movie.
So with an LG Blu-Ray writer and a 25GB Rewritable disk and Nero 9 ,with the Blu-Ray plug-in ,hopefully it'll work.

Have to say it's taking a very long time analyzing the M2TS video stream files though they do total 13GB so I guess it would take a while.
The writer spec recommends a 3.2GHz duel-core but mine is just over 3GHz per core so shouldn't be too far off. If I could find some stable settings I could over-clock the processor a little more and push it to 3.2GHz but I know with the current settings It'll run 24/7 flat without complaining.

Round two.
It misread the contents of the files using the .M2TS filetype so I've changed them back to the original .MTS and the processing is much quicker. I'd read on-line that the two filetypes were the same with just different suffixes so now we'll see. With the original files it created 4 slide shows which were too short to be the movie.
The files should already be in Blu-Ray format just set-up for a PS3 hence the different filetypes.
I used 5 DVD9 disks trying to create the other discs so the BD-RE (rewritable) disk will be very useful as the write once disks are still quite expensive and £3.58 each ! So I don't want to waste any of them.

All good fun as the saying goes.

Just discovered that "PC World Business" is the cheapest place for 25GB write once disks ! Just bought 10 with postage for £1.60 each and you can just sign-up without them asking if your a business.

As a follow-up about the Nero 9 experience and the Blu-ray authoring.
For what every reason Nero 9 with the Blu-ray plugin will not process the MTS / M2TS hi-def stream files as it creates slide shows instead of taking the raw files or recoding them for a smaller disk.

I used another program to create and burn the disk in the end and it worked first time.

Right now excited about going to the beach tonight

According to my driving instructor (thank goodness for air con is all I can say!) the temperature has been going between 29 and 30 all day. You would not think we were here... it is awesome! Only downside is having to work ::lol::

RN

Playing with Firefox 4.0 Beta 6.
Seems very fast though not all my add-ons are compatible.
Not sure if the Banking security software is compatible as I can't see it's Icon or find it listed in the add-ons.

Hope to get time this weekend to finish wiring the LEDs for the Eye so I can move on to the controller.

Blimey larry you dug deep for this thread. It hadn't been used for over a year!

Right now I am sitting here freezing cold and wondering whether I will see the tiny mouse again that quickly scurried past my feet in the garden at 7.30am this morning and frightened the life out of me as I wasn't expecting it!

Not that deep as it was still on the 1st page. Shows how the activity has dropped.

Ahh poor little mouse.

Why so cold ?

I don't know why I was so cold. My fingers were almost blue!! We have only been having the heating on for about an hour in the evening and not at all in the morning, so the house was cold, but as I am still very tiny, I don't have any fat on me to keep me warm I suppose. I had about 4 cardigans on as well!!

RN Trying to download Nero 10.5 First attempt was bad but as it's 1.5GB it takes a long time to find out if it's good.

Downloaded and installed.

Giving it it's first test making a DVD using two files totalling almost 2 hours ,with fully animated menus ,two pass variable bit rate encoding with everything set for quality over speed making files for a DVD9 disc.

Looking like it's going to take a very long time. It'll be intesting to see if it tries to use the CUDA features of the Graphics card as they don't appear to work. Using GPUs would speed things up a lot.

Currently saying it'll take around 4h40 though that could drop.

Must see if I can find working CUDA drivers for the Palit ? GTS250 card.
