IT was gracious of Britt Ekland to volunteer to eat her hat after Gillian McKeith won four stars in her latest Bushtucker Trial.


But it may also have been ­pragmatic. With Alison ­Hammond newly arrived, the rest of the celebrities will need to take their food wherever they can find it.

The woman-mountain from This Morning, one of the first to be evicted in Big Brother series three who has since become a loud and saucy celebrity interviewer, says she is on a diet and wants to lose another stone.

However, her arrival clutching a Terry’s chocolate orange spoke volumes. Camp gut-bucket ­Gillian, who had to crawl into a flooded tunnel where critters included crocodiles, water ­spiders and eels for her Bushtucker stars, may have met her match.

TROUBLEMAKER Gillian Mckeith has been exposed as the “untouchable” star of the jungle who has TV bosses wrapped around her little finger.

One crew worker turned whistle-blower claimed:

- Everyone is sick of her antics but she is a ratings winner;
- Panicky bosses tinker with her Bushtucker Trials so she will not refuse them;
- She fakes panic attacks and fainting spells to create drama;
- Her list of bizarre phobias and allergies grows longer by the day.

Gillian McKeith has collapsed for the second time after doing a Bushtucker Trial.

The nutritionist, 51, who had to be carried to safety by Dr Bob, was moaning: "I just saw spiders and the water was rising. I just couldn't do it any more."

On her fourth trial, Aquatic Strife, Gillian got four stars from compartments in a flooded tunnel containing yabbies, crocodiles, water spiders and eels, before she went "floppy" and fainted.

This Morning's Alison Hammond, 35, joined the camp yesterday. But she seemed deflated by the others' reaction to her. Alison admitted: "I might be a bit too loud for them."

Gillian faces sixth trial!

Gillian McKeith was left horrified last night after viewers voted for her to do her sixth Bushtucker Trial.

The TV nutritionist gasped, "Oh no!" and was comforted by the others as she heard that she would perform tonight's challenge, called Dreaded Digger.

The trial will be shown live on ITV1 on Sunday night.

Hard-living Happy Mondays singer Shaun Ryder has threatened to quit I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! - because he is exhausted from too much socialising.

Ryder, 48, who wrote the hit 24 Hour Party People, said: ‘I am finding the 24-hour socialising a bit of a struggle.’

He has trouble staying awake because of a thyroid problem and added that he finds it difficult to cope with ‘bubbly’ people.

Havers quits celebrity jungle show

Nigel Havers has walked out of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! following a row about the jungle tasks.
The 59-year-old actor, who has been complaining about the treatment of the contestants, was an unlikely celebrity to appear on the show when his name was announced earlier this month.

He has become the first of this year's celebrities on the ITV1 show, who include Shaun Ryder, Linford Christie and Gillian McKeith, to quit.

On last night's show, the smoothie actor made it clear that he was unhappy with the latest task, in which he and the other celebrities should receive a mild electric shock.

After threatening to quit, he had a heated exchange with producers and technical staff but was eventually persuaded to return.

But Nigel grumbled that he would not stay on the show if he was forced into the camp's jail and made to wear a prison-style black and white striped outfit.

Linford 'Lunch Box' Christie, hero of last Sunday's Bushtucker Trial, when he earned 12 stars for the Camp, will be seen on tonight's 'I'm a Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here' episode accidentally eating his own *****.

"We should have planned ahead. It was an accident waiting to happen..." says show's producer Paul Thomas Barnum. "But we anticipated that 'McFaint' (the crew's nickname for contestant Gillian McKeith) was going to face the Trials again. It appears even the viewers have got fed up with her amateur theatricals and this time voted for Linford after his stellar pecks-posing performance in the last Bushtucker Trial."
