Has reality TV crossed the line into cruelty?

WHEN Big Brother limped off the screen earlier this year, the obituarists came out in force to bid farewell to the gladiatorial extremes of reality television. No longer, they predicted, would the viewing public follow the tiresome carryings-on of pneumatic fame-chasers and exuberantly coiffed egomaniacs, then spend their own money to vote them into oblivion.

Turns out they were wrong. As two long weeks of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! have shown, millions are willing to spend hours watching a bunch of wannabes, trying-to-bes and used-to-bes cooking over a campfire – especially if there is an opportunity to lock Gillian McKeith into a box of rats and bugs at the end of it.

Britt Ekland blasts 'difficult' contestant Gillian McKeith: 'She should win best supporting Oscar'

The 68-year-old, who last night was voted out of the Australian jungle, has let rip at the TV nutritionist, labelling her 'difficult' and 'not a team player.'

Appearing on Daybreak this morning via satellite, the Swedish actress said: 'I think that she is putting on one of the best performances you will ever see as a sour, miserable and negative woman.'

About time Britt was dumped from the Jungle camp - and Alison, both of them were edited out of the show and for good reason, I think.
The same thing is now happening to Linford, Aggro and Kayla - who would have thought a man [Linford] straddling a Playboy model would not be getting front page coverage? or a young man [Aggro] who is loved by all the campers, but not the producers, the said Playboy model is being ignored as well, the only mention she gets is from her biggest fan, Dec.
The producers have chosen Gillian, Dom, Stacey, Jenny and Shaun of the boring  as the four campers to sell the show. And selling us their version to boot.
It is the And and Dec show - with a few biased edited clips of the campers for the voters to vote on.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here has gone the way of BB - down the drain.

Gillian's £100K Woe

GILLIAN McKeith's health food firm is battling debts of almost £110,000 and has just avoided being wound up.

Companies House papers show that McKeith Research Ltd, which the TV nutritionist runs with US lawyer husband Howard Magaziner, faces net liabilities of £108,057.

Regulators told her in September that the company faced the axe and gave her three months to save it.

But in October she was allowed to continue after accounts revealed that the debt was nearly £30,000 down on last year, when it stood at £137,906.

The firm sells Gillian-branded health foods and cook books. The diet guru has insisted that she wont quit I'm A Celeb because she did not want to lose her fee.

Gillian McFail snubs TV interviews for family reunion

Moaning Gillian McKeith snubbed TV interviews with Daybreak and Lorraine Kelly to be reunited with her family after her I'm A Celebrity... stint.

Although she is now out of the jungle, she still continues to enrage fans of the show - this time by refusing to be interviewed on Daybreak and Lorraine.

Serial tweeter Lorraine Kelly wrote on Twitter: 'Well, Gillian McKeith has decided not to come on Daybreak or my show - should I consider this a birthday pressie?'
