Matt Cardle prepares for his grand final show...

With the grand final approaching and the possibility of a duet with a world-famous pop star, an X Factor finalist has got to look their very best.

So it was no surprise to see Matt Cardle getting himself prepared for his big moment this weekend as he visited a beauty salon for a spray tan.

The Essex boy, 27, was filmed getting bronzed all over after moaning that he 'looked pale' under the studio lights.

Cher bows out of X Factor final

Teen singer Cher Lloyd has bowed out of the X Factor after polling the fewest number of viewer votes.

The 17-year-old, from Malvern, Worcestershire who was the bookies' outsider to win, took her defeat with grace.

After the result was announced by host Dermot O'Leary, she said: "Thank you to everybody who ever, ever believed in me."

Her departure leaves three remaining finalists to battle it out for the title in Sunday night's show: five-piece boyband One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson from Liverpool, and former painter and decorator Matt Cardle

‘Stick the X Factor up your arse,’ says loser Cher

Cher Lloyd, the 17-year-old contestant X Factor fans have loved to hate since the talent show's latest series began in August, has finally been vote out. But the Cheryl-Cole-alike remained defiant, apparently telling organisers: "You can stick the X Factor up your arse."

Cher's rapped, electro'd-up medley of Clapping Song/Get Ur Freak On coaxed Simon Cowell into praise but didn't impress the audience who put her in last place behind Matt Cardle, Rebecca and boy-band One Direction.
