A Strictly Come Dancing finals threesome …

Former Strictly Come Dancing winner Tom Chambers on tomorrow's final: "I'm rooting for Matt this year. I'm backing the boys because in his position I know what it feels like to be sandwiched between two beautiful women."

The Holby City star later clarified his, ahem … position: "I'm rooting for Matt this year. I'm backing the boys because in his position I know what it feels like to be sandwiched between two beautiful women … in the final."

Thank goodness for that.

Strictly Come Dancing - BBC1 7:00pm - 8:00pm Saturday 18 December

15/15, series 8

This series has perfectly summed up what Strictly is all about. There's been some sublime dancing (take a bow Matt Baker, Kara Tointon, Scott Maslen and Pamela Stephenson), and some ridiculous, if highly entertaining, performances. In terms of dancing skills Ann Widdecombe's Titanic rumba hit a new low rather than an iceberg, although you have to admire her partner Anton Du Beke for his creativity, patience and fortitude. We're now down to the final three. Obviously some of the celebs mentioned above will be taking to the dance floor tonight, but at the time of writing it was impossible to know whether Widdy had gone the way of Wagner in The X Factor, or whether her endearing "elephantine galumphing", as she has described it, has won her a place in the final. It really doesn't matter what the judges think now. Their votes count for nothing, so it's down to viewers to decide who'll be waltzing off with the title - either Kara, Matt or Pamela. The results show is at 9:05pm.

Kara Tointon 'in relationship' with Artem Chigvintsev

Rumours of a romance propelled the pair to victory in the latest series of the television show, as viewers were dazzled by their onscreen chemistry.

Yesterday, after being treated in A&E for torn ligaments she sustained during the final, the 27-year-old said she was now looking forward to spending more time with the Russian.

The actress, who had previously remained tight-lipped about the nature of their relationship, said she would be having dinner with the dancer at her parents’ home in north London.

“He’s going to cook for me in my mum and dad’s kitchen. They’ve met him and they all get on so well.”

Asked whether the pair were now officially an item, she said: “Fingers crossed. We will see what happens.”

KARA TOINTON’S INJURY ORDEAL

STRICTLY champ Kara Tointon sealed her love for Artem Chigvintsev with a kiss, then had to dash to casualty.

The soap babe finally got it on with her Russian dance partner, 28, after being crowned winner on Saturday.

But just hours later Kara, 27, was in A&E with torn ligaments in her arm.
