But this behind-the-scenes-style recap is worth a few minutes of even the most jaded X Factor follower's time. Konnie Huq reminds us of winner Matt Cardle's "journey" (groan) through the contest from the initial, nervous audition to the final and - much more interestingly - gives us a glimpse of how he is coping with the media frenzy. He should make the most of it. Traditionally we don't hear much from winners after January because they're frantically recording their first album.
