83rd Annual Academy Awards Sky Movies Premiere
1:30am - 5:00am, Monday 28 February
The British are coming, again - the 83rd Academy Awards will be doubly watchable because we've got a fancied horse running. So how many statues will The King's Speech get? Bookies have stopped taking bets on Colin Firth, who's given a different witty best-actor speech at every awards do so far, but surely has his best urbane anecdote saved for this. Elsewhere, it's less clear cut. Helena Bonham Carter is up for best supporting actress but might well lose to teenage True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld, not least because Steinfeld is actually the lead in that film. And many pundits think the Americans will prefer The Social Network in the best picture vote - which, politics nerds take note, switched to an Alternative Vote system last year. Your hosts are James Franco, a nominee himself for his incisive turn in 127 Hours, and Anne Hathaway. Before the gongs, Sky Living covers the red-carpet frock-off.
