Well, this is my first post out of my little cubbyhole in years. Yet I'm possibly gonna give BB a chance again. Without Davina, and hopefully with a fresh broom, it would be nice if it could regain some of the show, that I used to love.

Mind you they'll probably throw Jordan, Peaches Geldof and Jack Tweed in, with Kerry Katona presenting.......

Dom Joly thinks Channel 5 will 'ruin' Big Brother'

I'm A Celebrity... star Dom Joly has said he thinks Channel 5 will ruin Big Brother when it moves channel.

The reality show was previously shown on Channel 4 before they decided to drop it and the programme moved to Channel 5.

The comedian was a regular guest on the Big Brother spin-off shows in previous years.

Joly said he thinks the new series will probably be just more "stupidity and breasts".

He told Digital Spy: "I think [Big Brother] will be ruined by Channel 5 if I'm honest. I don't think it will be the same without Davina [McCall].

"I think it will become a conveyor belt for OK magazine to produce instant freaks, put them in the mag and then churn them out."

He added: "I expect even more stupidity and breasts. I thought it had reached its maximum breast stupidity level and I did think the last series was the best ever, but... just leave it."

BB 24-hour live feed scrapped in favour of Facebook app

The news was confirmed by digital director James Tatam, who said that Channel 5 and Endemol are instead working with mobile company Mobile Interactive Group on a Facebook application that delivers extra video content, news from the house and the ability to vote housemates off the show online.

Looks like I'll be giving BB a miss then. The whole concept of the show was about watching the HM's day and night. This will end up as editorial cuts to make people see what they want us to see, and that sort of thing has ruined the series for me before.

I was often here well after midnight, which is when a lot of the good stuff went on anyway. It is just not going to entertain me in the same way with sterile daily updates that are, if they are as they were before, a day or more behind the real action anyway.

That, and updates from the likes of the auditions where the production team are looking for wacky, rather than ordinary, people has put me off yet again.

The original BB had real people, we watched and grew to know them. Through BB2, BB3 and BB4 I go more and more hooked, but after that they brought in the more unusual HM's, conflict and downright silliness as far as I'm concerned.

A lot of people said BB4 was boring but I don't think I have fully enjoyed a series since then. Too much interference from the production team from selecting the HM's to editing the C4 shows to tell the story they wanted a lot of people to believe

I enjoyed making screen caps to go into the captions thread, can't do that without something to capture from and I don't stand a chance of watching regular daily shows.

I supposed I should thank C5 and Endemol for saving me from wasting my time when I've many other things I really should be doing instead of being glued to the screen half the night!

We will miss your input OG but I might not bother doing much watching as I don't do 'Facebook'. No doubt the Daily Star will run a few extra pages of carefully edited info

Yes we shall miss you OG and I don't do Facebook either Jim. Also, I am extremely busy these days, so don't know how much I will be able to watch. I also was put off a bit when I heard they were looking for wacky people again. However, I will definitely be watching what I can (time permitting) and hopefully, Finchy will be around to entertain us with the Eviction prediction games.
