Denise Welch Victory Beats Last Year's Final In Ratings

It's not just Denise Welch who'll be in a celebratory mood today - Channel 5 bosses will no doubt be ecstatic that last night's Celebrity Big Brother final attracted more viewers than last year.

Despite the series in general performing marginally worse than its predecessor, which starred Amy Childs, Jedward, Kerry Katona and winner Paddy Doherty, last night's closing episode performed slightly better.

3.01 million viewers tuned in on Thursday September 8, 2011, to see the Gypsy Weddings star emerge as champion, a figure beaten by a hairline last night as 3.04 million saw Loose Women star Welch beat Frankie Cocozza and Gareth Thomas.

The season finale of Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side with Emma Willis also saw an upturn in viewership, with 1.54 million viewers seeing Welch's last on-air fight with Michael Madsen. Only 1 million saw the last episode last year.

Last night's final attracted double the audience of former host Davina McCall's Million Pound Drop on Channel 4, which reached 1.44 million in the 9pm timeslot.

I think Denise's husband may well have known about the affair because he wasn't there for the eviction. They both have said in the past how they have hung-on-in with their marriage so I think they both are truthful with each other where their marriage is concerned...

Well it says that she was going to tell him about it after BB and it is not the first affair she has had either. The first one he found out about accidentally, so she wasn't honest with him about that. She was also proclaiming her love for her husband when he was ill and at the same time having a fling with her new man. She's a hypocrite. Yes her marriage may have been on the rocks, but it annoys me how she made such a fuss about telling everyone on BB what an honest person she is.

However, I do appreciate that I am going solely by what the paper says and of course that may not be correct.

Speaking last May, Denise said of her marriage to Tim: 'There is a perception that Tim is the long-suffering husband and I’m bad Denise. It’s not true. We’ve both, by our own admission, strayed.

It would appear the Denise's marriage has gone through quite a few "Affairs" between them, but who knows the truth, maybe Denise and her hubby don't even know the truth about their relationship.

DENISE WELCH: MY MARRIAGE TO TIM IS OVER

DENISE Welch has announced live on ITV's Loose Women that her marriage to Tim Healy is over.

Denise, who just returned to the show from her win on Celebrity Big Brother, announced she was splitting from husband Healy after a 24 year marriage.

She said: "I just want to say, this is going to be really difficult for me.

"My family made a decision that we would talk about this today. Tim and I separated some time ago."

The 53-year-old presenter made the announcement live on television this afternoon.
