Right.....someone sent me this lateral thinking puzzle.....I cheated and searched it on google lol and got the answer, BUT I still don't understand it!!! It's true when they say cheats never prosper!
Can anyone explain it to me?

The man in the Elevator
A man lives on the tenth floor of a building. Every day he takes the elevator to go down to the ground floor to go to work or to go shopping. When he returns he takes the elevator to the seventh floor and walks up the stairs to reach his apartment on the tenth floor. He hates walking so why does he do it?

Answer: The man is a dwarf

wouldnt it be that the lift only goes to the seventh floor?

It doesnt say he catches it from the tenth floor to go down

I have seen this before.

In the version I learnt it had it that on sunny days he takes the lift so far and then walks. On days when it rains he goes all the way.

in other words on rainy days he has an umberella to hit the 10th floor button.

Today he would sue the lift manufacturer or owner of the building under the Disability Discrimination act.
