Twice-married Bill, who has played Ken Barlow for 50 years and claims to have bedded 1,000 women, also admitted he was not planning another marriage.
He said: “There are no great ties. I have no issue with age – I’m young at heart, so it’s a soul affinity that matters.
"Love is the most powerful force in the universe.”
Bill apologised for bed-hopping as a younger man, but added his belief in reincarnation had helped him deal with it and maintain a youthful outlook.
He said: “I’ve no fear of getting older.
"This vehicle will get older and when it has served its purpose, I’ll leave and go back to the spiritual world.”
He told how he “feels sorry” for cynics, and claimed anyone can be forgiven for their sins with the power of love.
The star said his 31 years of marriage to second wife Sara Mottram were among his best, but he also admitted to a crush on Joanna Lumley.
Bill said: “She had everything I like in a woman, but was she one of my 1,000 lovers? I’ll be a gentleman.”
