Day 14: Rule breakers face the House

Will our housemates ever learn. You talk about nominations, you get punished by the boss.

We don't care if you whispered it, had the chat in a cupboard or conversed using semaphore flags made out of your underpants, there aint nothing Big Brother don't see.

Loveable giant Razor and goody two shoes Ryan are the housemates in the frame – the pair had the noms chat, talking tactics and making plans to target the girls.

The entire House are now up for eviction this Friday. Yep, you heard right, the whole flippin' celeb-tastic House.

Tricia was surprised at Ryan. His previously unblotted copy book is now thoroughly tarnished.

The announcement raised a big cheer – led by Speidi but some weren't so chuffed – Rylan in particular had a right face on him.

Ryan and Razor were greeted by boos when they returned to the living room – again led by Speidi. This pair are like so confusing.

Ryan got to grovelling from the off saying, "We were just thinking out loud. I apologise, I didn't think our conversation was any different to anyone else's." Well it was Ryan.

Razor took a different attitude saying, "I've done us all a favour, no one has to nominate." That's certainly one way of looking at it.

Diplomatic as ever, Gillian said: "At least we'll all be the same, all sitting here."

All in all the housemates have been fairly understanding towards Ryan and Razor so far but the night is young. Is this just the calm before the storm?

A bit of banter with Sean 'Barry' Williamson

Sean 'Barry from Eastenders' Williamson had his feet up in our green room so we grabbed him for a quick 'rabbit and pork' (that talk to those of you unfamiliar with Walford banter).

We know Gillian best from her time on the square and so does Sean so we asked him if we are likely to see a bit of Kathy Beale from our charming housemate?

"She's kept her head down so far and I understand why," he said. "She doesn't like confrontation and with the Speidi and Razor situation she isn't the sort of person who would get involved.

"That Kathy spirit is there trust me. If anybody had approached her like Speidi did, they would have known about it. I don't mean it in a bad way but she has got a steely side.

"I don't have a bad word to say about Gillian, she is the loveliest person and I'm delighted that she is in there but I think she needs to up her game a bit now."

So surely Sean is backing Gillian for first place. Nope, he's team Rylan. Maybe he'll be the one to fire up her inner Kathy Beale when she finds out...

Day 15 round-up: A devil finds work for idle hands
Photo

The day started with an almighty shock, when Spencer, from the duo known as Speidi, offered to the cook the housemates breakfast – say what!? It was a surprise to us as much as it was to the housemates, but the earth wasn't officially shattered as the offer didn't actually materialize.

Spencer's uncharacteristic behaviour continued later in the garden, when Speidi admitted that they may not be guaranteed winners after all, putting Rylan in the race for the title. And it didn't stop there – they even went on to praise their former nemesis, 'frogface' - AKA Ryan - for his impression skills. We guess they must have got out of the right side of the bed this morning...

Talking of Ryan, he started displaying some odd behaviour throughout the day, offering to brush Spencer's hair and giving Tricia some awkward hugs. But don't worry, our Aussie soapy hadn't gone the way of Harold Bishop – it was all part of a task to win a devilishly good party later that evening.

And as he wasn't busted, they won said party – Hurrah! Well, everyone apart from Gillian and Speidi who were punished for an early rule-break, the naughty rascals. While most of the housemates pulled some questionable shapes in the party room, Speidi and Gillian, dressed in Pearly King and Queen outfits, were 'treated' to a bit of Chas and Dave on loop. It was a punishment of sorts, as Speidi were hoping to hear some Britney Spears tunes – sorry Speidi, but somehow we don't think she counts as a Cockney (unless you fancy a pint of Britney Spears, eh?).

As the festivities came to a close, the housemates reconvened in the living room and swapped notes on their respective parties, and there was collective agreement that fun had been had by one and all – even if one was supposed to be a punishment. And the earlier jovial mood continued to erupt from the usually cut-off Speidi, who told Frankie that they felt more integrated in the group.

So as they all toddled off to bed, it seemed that the housemates have become one happy family and there was a thought that maybe we are starting to see a different side to Speidi after all.

They may be finally all getting on, but that doesn't stop us booting one of them out tonight. Meanies? Us? No...

Day 17: How are the finalists feeling?
"Pretend you're a swan. Nice and easy. You're on a pond."

So spoke life guru, Razor Ruddock, having decided in conversation with Spencer that Big Brother will be getting tricksy for the last week.

If we see Spencer floating gracefully in the bath or hot tub we'll know what's up.

Those two were not alone in expressing reservations this morning after Big Brother set the alarm off at 9.30am forcing housemates who'd been partying till the wee hours to drag their sorry carcasses out of bed. Ryan was up instantly, springing into the gym like a robot sent to make us all feel unworthy.

Getting up was a grumpier business for everyone else.

Frankie paced the front room before announcing, "I'll need a holiday when I get out of here." He settled down when Claire and Tricia appeared, looking like women who'd made a night of it (they did). Nursing cups of tea on the sofa they discussed their shock at last night's eviction.

"I thought I was hearing things," said Tricia, of the moment Gillian's name was called.

Rylan made a manful effort to stay in bed. The look on his face after he finally got up was that of a contract killer planning his next hit.

Speidi were the only ones in a relatively good mood. This is the third time the British public have saved them which has got to help soothe the morning-after blues.

Claire whipped up a classic breakfast. Maybe once this, along with the fact of them all being finalists, has been digested the mood will lighten. Or maybe Spencer and Razor are right and Big Brother will be whipping them through their paces for this, the final week. What would you prefer to see?

Day 18: A frosty front

Oh the drama, oh the tension...

Last night, we had the fall-out from the Big Blogger task - and tonight it's the turn of the Diletter task. If there was any hope of the bridge between Speidi and the housemates being gapped, we think that opportunity may have sailed after tonight's events.

While an unrepentant Speidi have sought refuge in the bedroom, the housemates have taken the opportunity to rant and rave about the controversial reality TV stars.

"I want nothing more to do with them anymore," said Tricia, a sentiment that seems to be popular amongst the rest of the housemates.

"I'll only talk to them if they talk to me, but I won't make any effort," Claire threatened feebly.

The incensed Rylan wasn’t quite so diplomatic, calling on his fellow countrymen for support.

"The British public won't keep them in after this," he stated, adding later, "If you spend your money keeping them in, you're heartless."

We have a feeling their ranting will continue into the night, but how will they be able to move on from this incident? With five days left in the House, they're going to have to work out a way to live with the couple, otherwise it'll be a very awkward five days indeed.

Day 19: Spencer and Heidi choose non-compliance

It was hard to make out what Speidi were discussing when they first awoke on Day 19. Nestling under their duvets before BB had demanded microphones be switched on (at all times), the odd faint word popped out from beneath the sheets.

"Winner" could definitely be heard. "Rylan" was definitely audible. Aside from that, the only full sentence that could be fully discerned came from Spencer when he told his missus he was staying in bed, that she should too, and that the only reason he'd move would be to clean himself, to eat or if Big Brother demanded their presence.

So non-compliance is the order of the day. Speidi have refused to participate in the Boys Vs Girls task and other housemates look rather pleased that this is the case. At one point, as they were called to the Diary Room to explain their opting out of playing ball, Razor shouted "Just get rid of 'em, Big Bruvver!" without worrying about how it might make them feel. There's no love lost and it seems everything that needs to be said has been said.

Having only spoken to one another in hushed tones, we've been earwigging on what Speidi have been saying to one another as they lay, protesting in bed like a Beverley Hills John & Yoko, minus the peace (and the niceness).

Spencer declared "This show has made me 1,000 times more patriotic", to which Heidi replied: "Me too. Infinitely". Struggling with the silence that engulfs the room whenever he enters, Spencer told Heidi "The best part of this show will be when it ends. Whatever's happening out there will be better than what's happening in here with these people. I cannot wait. It's so close".

In the Diary Room, Big Brother asked the pair if they intend to talk to anyone at all on Day 19. Spencer replied "We're playing a game [between us] to see who can talk to House enemies less. And also looking at House enemies less", making it clear this is a defiant act and not just awkwardness.

Speaking about the next eviction, Heidi described it as "win, win". Spencer replied "I'm so excited about eviction night. Anything is possible"

On a final note, talking about their housemates' current attitude to them, Spencer said "There is no worse punishment than being here with them till Friday. Or watching them"

We beg to differ. We quite enjoy watching the housemates and we'll be sad when they all leave the House on Friday. Saying that, we'll also be sad to say goodbye to Speidi. No matter how grumpy they get and even if they stay parked under their duvets, this moody pair are an enthralling watch and no mistake.

Day 19: Heidi apologies for clapping

Photo
It was the clap that caused a House of strife, and tonight, Heidi has finally come clean about that ill-timed hand movement.

Chatting to the housemates in the kitchen, Heidi admitted that she hadn't meant to cause offence with her reaction. She reasoned that she just got caught up in everyone clapping and that her response was a gesture to show that she was supporting her marriage and their decision not to be separated for a task.

"I was clapping our decision to stick together, as I thought we'd be separated for days like the basement task... I didn't think about what I was doing at the time," she offered to the group.

Explaining why he clapped along with his wife, Spencer rationalised that he knew Heidi hadn't meant to clap and that he was just backing her up, "We're in the same boat. We gotta go down together."

Apologising profusely to Claire and telling all who would listen that the situation had been misconstrued, Heidi stated, "You think you're in a game, but you're not," adding, "I've got the worst timing..."

Lucky for them, the housemates are a pretty forgiving bunch, as they whole-heartedly accepted the couple's apology. Even Rylan, who was the most vocal after the clap-incident, said how glad he was to clear the air, saying he just wants to leave the House with everyone talking.

"We're all human beings, we should be talking to each other," Tricia gushed, before awkwardly hugging the pair and professing that they were both 'lovely people'.

We know what you're thinking - what a turn out for the books! We certainly didn't think we'd see a untied, happy House again, but there we go...

Is it too cynical for us to ask how long it'll last?

Day 20: Whose ears are burning?

One of our housemates had an emotional moment earlier today and it caused housemates, led by Razor, to talk about him behind his back.

After a workout in which he was clearly sweating out litres of annoyance, Big Brother boomed that Ryan needed to return his weights to the gym, quick-smart. Mr Moloney was evidently unhappy about being on the receiving end of a telling off and he stormed towards the shower with a black cloud over his head.

Rylan and Claire helped him out of his fug in the bathroom and a chat with other housemates in turn eased his mood. Before that though, Ryan was the topic of a spot of gossip. It was affectionate and well-meant, but gossipy all the same.

"He's ready to go," remarked Heidi after Ryan had stropped off. "I think he's going to explode. They know he's at breaking point," said Razor. "I love the intensity of that voice – 'put the weights back in the gym!'... it's not the nice one," she said, talking about the announcement that had given Ryan a telling off.

Talk moved to The Dictator task, when Ryan was a guard. "I thought Ryan was nicest when he was a guard," said Heidi. Tricia remarked that, "he gets into his characters." Razor said that Ryan had an inkling Dictator Frankie had been bugged. "He thought we'd been bugged – we're surrounded by microphones and he's under the table looking for a bug."

Spencer referred to him as Private Ryan and Heidi spoke, quite diplomatically, of his 'intensity'. Razor chipped in, saying that when he's Toadfish in Neighbours, Ryan has his own punchbag on set. Heidi replied that she bets he learns his own lines and everybody elses'.

"Imagine you're doing a big scene with him and you forget your words," said Razor, shuddering at the thought.

Ryan's an intense dude and his housemates have clearly noticed. Maybe that heartfelt moment after he opened his heart will help to soften his image. If there's one thing it's safe to say of the Big Brother House, it's definitely an emotional place.

Day 20: Be careful what you wish for

"We're all finally getting on," announced Razor, "so why won't Big Brother give us something to do?"

Housemates agreed that the hardest thing about being in the House is the boredom. We have to second that one but BB can't take all the responsibility, these guys should learn to entertain themselves.

Previous housemates have found ingenious ways to while away the hours but this bunch like nothing more than lying on the sofa in anoraks or dressing gowns depending on the time of day. Maybe it's the weather, but these housemates have been in hibernation mode.

Spencer said, "I love being bored at home but I have a cell phone, DVD player, computer games..."

What do you think people did before these mod cons, Spence?

Tricia went one step further, adding, "It's looking at the same faces for three weeks, that's what's boring." Alright, Trish, tell it like it is.

In an attempt to liven things up, Tricia painted her nails, Spencer watched Heidi brush her hair and Ryan gave Rylan a wedgie.

We think Razor should be careful what he wishes for. These guys should know better. With Big Brother, there is always calm before a storm.

Day 22: Life outside the House

As Rylan so rightly sighed this morning, "it's the last full day in the Big Brother House" for this batch of celebrities. As they sat around contemplating where the time had gone, the conversation quickly veered to what they're most looking forward to when they leave the Elstree compound.

Not surprisingly, the mummies and daddies of the House, Ryan, Claire and Razor, put their kiddies at the top of the list. While the only singleton in the conversation, Rylan, had a much more star studded vision, excitedly talking about the VIP parties he'll be able to attend.

"I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts," he mused.

Speidi however, have been thinking more short-term, agreeing that they won't be attending any post-series drinks with the other celebrities.

"I don't think they'd want us to be there," Heidi suggested.

"I've seen them look our way when they talk about the wrap party. They want us to come," Spencer boasted.

Even though the group have called cease fire for the time being, we somehow can't see Speidi at the top of any housemates' drinking buddy list...
