Two of Baby P's social workers - who say they were unjustly fired - take their case to the Court of Appeal today.

Three judges in London will hear challenges brought by Gillie Christou and Maria Ward.

The women claim they were unfairly sacked by Haringey Council in north London in response to a public outcry about the little boy's horrific death.

Ms Ward was Peter Connelly's nominated social worker at the council from February 2007 until his death, and Mrs Christou was her team manager.

Two of Baby P's social workers have lost an appeal against an employment tribunal ruling that they were fairly sacked in the wake of the public outcry over the toddler's death.
