Ant And Dec's Ready To Rhumble Hits Number One

TV hosts Ant and Dec have been celebrating their first number one single - 17 years after their pop career came to an end.

A performance of Let's Get Ready To Rhumble, which hit number nine in 1994, on their Saturday Night Takeaway show last weekend sparked a rush to download the tune.

Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly met on the children's TV series Byker Grove and had a run of hits in the mid-1990s under the guise of their characters from the show, PJ and Duncan.

They had nine songs in the top 40, but Let's Get Ready To Rhumble was their biggest success.

Their re-entry into the singles chart went straight to number one, knocking The Saturdays' What About Us, featuring Sean Paul, off the top spot, the Official Charts Company said.
