One Person Shows Up For The X Factor Audition

Only one person is reported to have turned up at an audition held for The X Factor in Colchester.

The Sun reports that staff were left twiddling their thumbs when they held a mobile audition in the Essex town, with the only auditionee being a young woman who saw the sign as she was walking past.

Hit ITV Show X-Factor rolled into Dumfries this week to seek out budding pop stars.

Producers from the popular programme are on a nationwide search of towns and cities which aren’t covered by the main judges’ tour.

Wannabe artists from the region and beyond queued outside the Cairndale Hotel in English Street from 7.30am on Wednesday to get the chance to belt out their tunes.

Dumfries retail worker Jade Walters, 19, was one of only a few hopefuls to clinch a yellow ticket through to the next round.

"There's nothing as ***** as folk and you never know who you're going to meet," said host Dermot O'Leary as he greeted eager wannabes at the ExCel Centre. Aspiring stars sang and danced in the car park as they warmed up for their moment in front of the judges.

There was a "real sense of excitement" as hundreds of singing hopefuls formed a long queue.
