It's the dream we've all harboured at some point during our childhood - the chance to become a Blue Peter presenter. Back in March, the longest-running children's television show announced plans to launch an audition process for the next addition to their on-screen team and today the panel set to pass judgement on the ten shorlisted hopefuls has been revealed.
Myleene Klass, Eamonn Holmes and CBBC's Friday Download presenter Ceallach Spellman will preside over the upcoming series Blue Peter - You Decide! as the contestants compete in a series of skills-based challenges to win their dream gig. The trio will scrutinise each of the ten aspiring competitors, selecting who makes it through each elimination round, with CBBC viewers holding a casting vote on which of the final three will join current presenters Helen Skelton and Barney Harwood.
Speaking of her new judging role, Myleene Klass said, “It’s a huge privilege to be involved in selecting the next Blue Peter presenter. It’s a difficult task that weighs heavy on my shoulders! Everyone remembers the Blue Peter presenter they grew up with and I want to make sure I choose someone who will inspire the next generation – and they should be handy with the sticky-backed plastic too!"
“Being asked to sit on the judging panel has been a tremendous honour but it brings with it a tremendous responsibility," added Holmes. "Any one of the final 10 is good enough for the job – but we’re looking for better than good. This is a dream job for any young aspiring presenter – unfortunately being eliminated will be their nightmare.”

Myleene, as well as being a successful presenter and performer in her own right, knows how it feels to go through a similar selection process as part of a high profile television programme. Cel is a firm CBBC favourite as a regular on Friday Download and really understands our audience and what they might be looking for in a presenter – so the three of them together are the perfect combination.”
