DAILY UPDATE: DAY 20
Key highlights from tonight’s show:
• Hazel and Daley are getting tactile in the bedroom while she is talking to Dexter. Dexter tells Hazel that she is too intelligent for him.
• The first part of the 5,4,3,2,1 shopping task takes place in the garden. Housemates Wolfy, Joe, Jack, Sophie and Hazel take part.
• Sophie feels harassed by a fly and gets angry; Wolfy tells her that she needs to listen to what the fly is trying to tell her.
• Callum gives Charlie an intense massage master-class.
• During their part of the task Dan, Gina, Dexter and Wolfy each fail to eat a lemon in 45 seconds.
• The second part of shopping task takes place with Dan, Joe, Jackie and Callum; for passing this part of the task they will receive 30% of the shopping budget.
• After talking to Big Brother about being nominated, a tearful Dan is consoled in the kitchen by Jackie.
• Gina and Dan are in the living area discussing their individual opinions about Jackie.
• Hazel and Daley are getting close in the bedroom again, writing words on each other’s hands using their fingers. Daley writes,“I like you” on Hazel’s palm, Hazel responds with, “Me too.”
Key quotes from tonight’s show
1. Callum talks to Big Brother in the diary room about Dan.
Big Brother “Have you spoken to Dan this morning?”
Callum “No, but like I said I am not going to go out of my way to. It would be rubbing salt in the wounds to some extent. Maybe he wants to get over it; maybe he wants to pull me up for a chat later. I’m happy to sit down with any one and let them in here (points to head) and explain things to them. I won’t be chasing him, I don’t want to make the situation worse by offering an olive branch or anything like that, and I don’t feel like I have done anything wrong.”
2. Dan is talking to Sam in the bedroom about Callum being “too nice.”
Dan “I don’t think he’s as nice as he makes out, that’s all I say. I think it’s awkward. His niceness is awkward. It doesn’t seem genuine sometimes. He tries too hard to be nice.”
Sam “I understand though.”
Dan “That’s kind of what I think and I’ve said that. I don’t feel like I need to say that again to him or for him to say anymore to me. I still think his reason for nominating me was pretty weak and I think if you respect someone like he says respects me then if you don’t connect with them you see through that and you still think well I really respect that person and I like how he is in the house then you wouldn’t nominate them. So I think there must be more to it than what he said that we’re not close because I know we are not close.”
Sam “Do you feel like in this house that everyone is so close to each other its actually annoying because you get put up for nomination for the smallest of things.”
Dan “Yeah. People will definitely have to. This isn’t real a lot of it. Not all of it. People are being very clever around avoiding being nominated and being up for eviction. It can’t stay like this; people can’t maintain it for too long.”
Sam “You didn’t overreact; all you’ve done is raise your voice to defend yourself.”
Dan “But look where it’s got me.”
3. Callum and Joe discuss Dan in the kitchen.
Joe “Has Daniel spoken to you yet?”
Callum “He hasn’t no. I don’t blame him for that; he’s entitled to feel angry and frustrated. It’s a natural reaction.”
4. Callum and Dan try to reconcile after their argument over nominations.
Dan “Callum I don’t want things to be awkward. I sense a bit of awkwardness between us. We should just try and forget it.”
Callum “We are done. We are good.”
Dan “I know we said stuff last night but I feel a bit awkward, you probably do too. Let’s just move on.”
Callum “I wanted to say the same thing to you but I didn’t want to get in your space.”
5. Wolfy talks to Big Brother in the diary room about nominations and Dan.
Wolfy “Hey Big Bro!”
Big Brother “Hi Wolfy, tell Big Brother about the task you have just done.”
Wolfy “I feel in particular that I may have let the side down with missing the first one and then hardly anything else coming out, and when I walked in and I was in a bit of strop and a bit peeved but even my worst enemy was like ‘don’t worry about it Wolfy’.”
Big Brother “You said your worst enemy, who are you referring to?”
Wolfy “Oh Big Brother, you tease. You know who I am referring to; I am not going to be made to be the bitch on television. Obviously the man, who has victimised me, put me under daily interrogation and scrutinisation, Mr Daniel. He is really not taking being put up for noms well. It’s a game at the end of the day. He completely went ape s**t. Which I kind of think was very childish of him, he is kind of coming round to it now. But I heard him in the bedroom this morning going on about it again. Dude what’s done is done. I don’t even know why nominations would make you feel like that. It’s understandable but at the end of the day he’s 33. You should realise it’s just a game he should not have lashed out in that verbal way that he did to Callum last night. At the end of the day I’ve put my s**t-shield up Dan, reflecting s**t right back at you. Keep throwing those parcels of insecurity at me and I’ll throw them right back. If this is my last week which to be honest, it may seem egotistical but I don’t think the public would want me to go. I am just going to have fun.”
6. Dan is in the bedroom talking to Hazel about feeling lonely.
Hazel “How are you feeling today Dan? Better?”
Dan “I feel alright…Yeah I’m kind of. I don’t want to go. I do feel a bit lonely in the house. Maybe we will have a chat later.”
Hazel “Yeah sure.”
7. Charlie and Hazel are in the kitchen talking about Dan.
Charlie “What’s he annoyed about?”
Hazel “Just the fact that people aren’t being honest. He thinks everyone is getting on really well but we actually hate each other. He’s quite honest, whereas some people don’t really like to be too abrupt. This may not be for him. You know what I mean?”
Charlie “Yeah.”
Hazel “This just may not be his cup of tea. You don’t know it until you come in.”
8. Dexter and Gina talk to Jackie about her nominations.
Jackie “We’ve all got to get on, it’s as simple as that.”
Gina “But the thing is Jackie, I felt like I was really shocked yesterday because all that you said had probably been building up and I didn’t know you felt like that.”
Jackie “I do, I build things up, Charlie will tell you, and then I go.”
Gina “I would have liked it if you had told me if you had a problem with me.”
Jackie “I said it last night, because I hadn’t got to that stage until last night.”
Dexter “I do find you quite calculating. From my observations, I was a bit taken back at the tone that you used, but you said what you had to say. I would have thought you would have done it in a different way which has made me think more about your character and gave you more dimensions that what I thought. But that particular stance is what I would have expected from a younger person within the house, I expected you to be a lot more diplomatic and tactful in your choice of language.”
9. Dan gets tearful in the diary room.
Dan “Big Brother what is wrong with me. I just don’t feel the same at all, and I don’t think it’s because I am up for eviction. I am getting upset now, I don’t want to cry. I haven’t cried at all since I have been in here. I don’t want to cry I am not going to. (Starts to get emotional) I don’t know. I don’t know. I feel a bit lost today… Sorry.”
Big Brother “There’s nothing wrong with being emotional Dan.”
Dan “And I really want a cigarette as well and I don’t understand why Wolfy will not give me a f***ing cigarette. I gave all of my cigarettes out in the first five or six days. Everyone is out for themselves in here and I obviously wasn’t. I’m still not.”
10. Wolfy and Joe are in the garden talking about cigarettes and Dan.
Wolfy “You know what is hilarious is that he (Dan) has given me two fags since we’ve been here and I’ve given him eight. And then he’s on at me. Him being emotional and that and then the way he acted at Callum is not going to do him any favours.”
Joe “He’s a nice boy but the …”
Wolfy “He’s not nice. He victimised me but nobody seems to understand that because it didn’t happen to them. But he constantly interrogates me, which is why I have said from now on if he says anything that is a personal question to my personal life then I am going to spin him a little ball of yarn. I am going to play the actress. If he thinks I am an actress then let him think I am an actress. ”
11. Dan is talking to Charlie in the living area about Hazel.
Dan “I have said to Hazel (who) if I’m honest is my number one connection in this house, my number one. I have told her I feel isolated, I feel on my own and she has not come back to me at all, that was 10 hours ago. I literally lay in bed next to her and said I feel isolated today. I feel on my own and isolated and can we talk about it later. And she said ‘yeah’ and she has not come back to me, she has not come back to me.”
Charlie “Number one, maybe she thought you wanted space. Because I know Hazel wants space.”
Dan “No but I made it obvious though.”
Charlie “But you might not have done.”
Dan “I did. It was obvious.”
Charlie “Look you speak to her about that because there will be an explanation for it.”
12. Dexter is talking to Wolfy about gossip and housemates getting suspicious/
Wolfy “You know what, you’re the only person that I actually have proper f**king respect for, you know what I might have taken it a bit too far saying you were sly and whatever because you might relay information, but if it puts you in a more powerful position to play the f***ing game that we are in. Well done and thank you for being f***ing honest.”
Dexter “No but look I agree with you 100%. So what if I plant seeds in people’s heads. But if you look back at all the footage I have never actually said a bad word about anyone.”
Wolfy “No you have just told people what other people have said. But what is hilarious is that you are one of the most genuine people in here.”
Dexter “Yeah but I’m not a gossip. Yeah but I am not a gossip. I am loyal to that person but not one person in here is loyal to me. Because every single person put me up for eviction.”
