SHOPPING TASK - THE BUDGET: DAY 1 TIME TO MAKE CUTS

OVERVIEW

Housemates must earn money for the budget in this penny pinching shopping task. One group of housemates become the Treasury. It is the Treasury’s job to earn money for the budget by implementing various cuts across the 2 days.

The other housemates will be helping to earn money for the house by complying with these cuts. In order to control spending, it is up to the Treasury to decide what cuts they wish to issue the housemates with. The harsher cuts they give them the more money they will earn, but the worse the housemates’ lives will be. There will also be treats, but they will come at a price.

HOW IT WORKS

The Treasury

The Gina, Dexter and Charlie have become the Treasury. Their task is to earn as much money as they can by implementing cuts that the rest of the house must endure. They will also be tempted with special treats that would take money away from the shopping budget. When making cuts the Treasury will go to the large task room, where the rest of the house has gathered.

Day 1

9.30am

The Treasury make their first cut of the day; strike the beds or all housemates clothes (RAISE £90)

12.00pm
The Treasury go to the large task room and must choose and announce just TWO of the following:

- The VAINEST girl in house cannot wear make up for the remainder of the task: RAISE £58

- One housemate of The Treasury’s choice must arrange alphabet spaghetti on slices of bread to continually spell out ‘TIMES ARE TOUGH LETS PULL TOGETHER’: RAISE: £53

- The LAZIEST housemate must clean the toilets with a toothbrush until further notice: RAISE £55

- Dan & Wolfy have to remain handcuffed together for the duration of the task: RAISE: £59

1.00pm
TREASURY TEMPTATION 1: (in the Diary Room) Gina offered make up and nail treatment – costs £45

3.00pm
Treasury to decide to either take away all the food from the house (leaving basic rations) OR cigarettes: RAISE £75

4:00 PM
TREASURY TEMPTATION 2 (In the Diary Room) - Dexter is offered wine tasting session- costs £50

7:00 PM
Champagne and music given to Treasury.

7:30 PM

Housemates will be tempted with booze and use of the plunge pool.

All booze and use of the plunge pool will cost extra money that will be taken from the budget.

Day 28: Gina - 'people really are nasty'

Something tells us that Gina prefers watching the housemates, than being around them... Enjoy her privately moaning to Dexter

If these two want to see nasty all they have to do is look in a mirror.

Dexter and Gina living in the lap-of-luxury on the backs of the the other housemates is a reflection on the have's and have nots in society.

Jackie once again calling out the injustice of the have's.

Day 29: The Budget task update

Yesterday, Big Brother gave the housemates their weekly shopping task, The Budget. Gina, Dexter and Charlie were appointed as Big Brother's Treasury, and they had a series of tough decisions to make in order to raise funds via 'taxes' that would be exacted on the housemates via mini tasks.
So, the housemates' clothes were taken away for the rest of the task, Hazel was stripped of her makeup and the twins had to spend hours painstakingly spelling out words on toast in alphabet spaghetti. Oh, and the Treasury took away the housemates' cigarettes!

Of course, it's not all that simple: Big Brother offered many temptations in the form of makeovers, booze and pool privileges. Of course, every single one of these was accepted, and every single one of them will cost the housemates dearly.

Today, housemates were summoned to the Treasury Chamber to hear the day's first taxes. Instead of potentially cutting one housemate out of the show's next edit, or depriving all the girls of their makeup, the Treasury chose two taxes sure to make waves.

Dan and Wolfy must remain handcuffed together for the duration of the task, and Jack and Joe have been tasked with another messy food task: they must sort a huge tub of mixed seafood into separate bowls. Needless to say, after sifting through alphabet spaghetti for three hours yesterday, they're not best pleased...

Later today, the Treasury will choose whether to reveal the girls' nominations or the boys' nominations to the House. We are on tenterhooks!

SHOPPING TASK GOING IN: THE BUDGET DAY 2

The Treasury make their first cuts of the day and have the following choices:

- Daley and Hazel must suck sweets together until they’re small enough to slot into a box: Raise: £50

- All girls must take off and hand in their make up until the end of the task: £50

- One housemate of The Treasury’s choice will be cut from the show for the remainder of the task: £55

- The Greediest housemate has to separate mixed seafood into tubs: Raise £50

Charlie is offered another temptation: a massage.

Sophie and a housemate of her choice take part in ‘Duty Free’. They go to small task room and have an option of picking a variety of hampers - but all at a cost.

FINAL BIG CUT – The Treasury to decide to either reveal the Girls' OR the Boys' noms to the rest of the house.

REVEAL BUDGET RESULT - The final result is revealed; Big Brother announces the total amount made by the housemates...minus the amount deducted by not sticking to the cuts.

SHOPPING TASK DAY 1 RESOLVE: THE BUDGET

Yesterday morning started this week's shopping task.

Over the course of the day The Treasury chose to make the following cuts:

Strike the housemates clothes - raise £95

The vainest girl in the house cannot wear make up - raise £65

Jack and Joe were chosen to separate alphabet spaghetti on slices of bread to continually spell out ‘Times are tough, lets pull together’ - £60

Take away all cigarettes - £90

However, The Treasury chose these perks:

Gina got her nails and make up professionally done - cost £20

Dexter had an expert wine tasting course - cost £40

Champagne for the treasury - £25

The housemates chose to:

Eat pizza - cost £30

Have a night of pool access, music and alcohol - cost £75

As a result the total gained for the shopping budget after day 1 is: £120

Day 29: Housemates watch this week's nominations

In the final part of today's shopping task, housemates endure a full screening of who nominated who. Will they take the nominations likely, or is this a recipe for rife?
