Repeat: BBC Two (not Northern Ireland) Tomorrow 11:20pmThis poignant film has shades of the famous Seven Up! series in the way it shows the arc of lives and the workings of character across decades. In 1979, BBC2 made a series called Public School, a ground-breaking portrait of life at Radley College. So what became of the boys featured? Director Hannah Berryman catches up with six of them and discovers how they feel now about their school days and what has become of them since. Except, brilliantly, she keeps us waiting for that last bit, so we don’t know until the end what became of the scholar and sportsman who cracked under the pressure, or the school stud. As a study in class, manners and hindsight, it’s hard to beat.
