The Christmas Special of Downton Abbey wasn't Christmassy or special


Downton Abbey was shamelessly, shamefully aimed at the Americans, rather than the British audience that had made it so popular in the first place.

Most of it wasn’t even set in Downton but in London – where it seemed the Granthams had another residence, nipping down from Yorkshire more swiftly and easily than we do now.
