Oxford power to emphatic 78th victory in the Boat Race after collision sends Cambridge rower out of his seat

The Dark Blues, who won by the largest margain since 1973, went into the contest with a far more experienced crew, and took a substantial lead after the two boats came together.

Thousands of people flooded on to the banks of the Thames to watch the two teams battle it out.
