Power Trip Day 1 update. 9pm on Channel 5
HIGHLIGHTS:
Last night, 10 housemates entered the Big Brother house and the public voted via the Big Brother app for Pauline to be the Power Housemate
· Pauline was shown classified information on each Housemate and was asked chose one Housemate to reward, and one to punish
· Pauline chose to reward Mark and he received £5,000 and chose to punish Matthew after he said “he was intolerant of people that haven’t got brains”. Matthew’s punishment was to be left up in the air in a box in the garden, completely excluded from the first night in the Big Brother house until further notice
· Big Brother informs Pauline that in 24 hours, she will use her power again and whatever she decides will change the Big Brother House forever
Pauline goes into the garden to celebrate with Mark and commiserate with Matthew. She says to Matthew “you’ll get over it”’ and he mutters under his breath “yeah right, you’d better watch your back”.
Steven and Winston check out ‘the talent’ inside the House
The housemates discover that the toilet has a built-in bidet. Helen asks “Who the f**k needs warm toilet water? Why warm toilet water when there are starving people in the world?”
Matthew vents to Danielle saying that when people meet him, they always have bad first impressions because they think he’s pretentious
Danielle says she knows if she will like someone within the first five seconds of meeting them and reveals that she thinks she will fall out with Tamara
Christopher discusses the Housemates in the Diary Room, describing them as a “feisty and opinionated bunch” and that he underestimated Big Brother’s power.
Helen tells Christopher and Mark that someone has “pissed all over” the toilet seat. Mark jokes, “Are you taking the piss?” Christopher admits that it could have been him.
Kimberley tells Housemates about herself, saying that she has “her Playboy side and educational side”. She says that there is more to her than just getting naked.
Danielle and Winston get to know each other on the garden sofas. Danielle says that she researched how to be a stockbroker after seeing The Wolf of Wall Street and describes her ideal man as being like Al Pacino in The Godfather “without the killing”
In the Diary Room, Tamara says she thinks Winston is fit and she finds Kimberley and Danielle boring
In the garden, Kimberley speaks to Steven while Matthew listens in. She says that she’s dating but doesn't have anything serious going on.
Pauline tells Big Brother that she feels a bit guilty about punishing Matthew but goes on to say that she is enjoying the power.

1. Steven and Winston discuss the talent in the House:
Steven: “If you had to pick anyone that you fancy?”
Winston: “Its early days but there’s a couple of fit ones in here”
Steven: “They don’t disappoint, do they?”
Winston: “You’re single, yeah?”
Steven: “Yeah, I’m single. No relationship, no one there. I think you’ve got to be if you come into an experience like this. You can’t mess about. They’re all… as you said…there’s plenty of… I can’t even explain it; I’m a little bit overwhelmed.”
Winston: “Yeah man.”
2. Matthew and Danielle discuss who they don’t like in the House:
Danielle: “They say don’t judge a book by its cover, but I think within the first five seconds of meeting someone I know if I’m going to like them or not.”
Matthew: “Who do you dislike?”
Danielle: “Well, there are two people I haven’t connected with. I don’t like to make pre judgements but I’ve got this sixth sense that we’re going to have fallouts.”
Matthew: “Who? Girls?”
Danielle: “One of them is a girl. A total opposite to me.”
Matthew: “Tamara?”
Danielle: “Yeah. But I’ve got such a strong character and can hold my own. If a fight happens, it happens.”
Matthew: “It’s always that way with girls. Girls always dislike each other and are very impressionable of one another.”
Danielle: “It’s so strange, so strange.”
3. Matthew and Pauline discuss his punishment:
Matthew: “Did you see my VT?”
Pauline: “Yes, I saw everybody’s.”
Matthew: “So, mine obviously wasn’t good?”
Pauline: “Well, you were a bit condescending bab.”
Matthew: “I just find it difficult to get one with people who aren’t intelligent. It probably sounds awful.
Pauline: “I don’t know because I’ve worked with people from every walk of life. At one point in my time, I think I was a little like yourself and I’ve been very judgemental, but I’ve learnt not to be. (Referring to the diary room videos) I had very little time and that was the worst thing I heard out of all of them. I might not like something that someone says, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like them.”
4. Tamara reveals that she thinks Winston is fit:
Big Brother: “What is it about Winston that you like?”
Tamara: “Winston is fit! There’s no denying that Winston’s fit. He seems a bit silly and cheeky.”
Big Brother: “Is that you’re type?”
Tamara: “My type is normally good looking and stupid and I think he ticks both those boxes! I’m sure he’s not stupid…I’m being horrible. I haven’t really spoken to the American one…”
Big Brother: “Kimberley”
Tamara: “Or the other one…”
Big Brother: “Danielle”
Tamara Laughs. “I’m sure they’re lovely girls but on first impressions they don’t stand out to me or interest me. I find them a bit monotonous, a bit boring, a bit I’m a model… boring.”

and I am sure part of Helen's background is the reason Pauline picked her, she would know Helen would be kicked out as soon as she was up for eviction.
