Get tae, Rupert! Murdoch stokes fury by dropping his biggest hint yet that he maybe about to take his papers into battle for Scottish 'Yes' vote - and citing his Scottish ancestors as reason enough to meddle
Mogul said: 'Scots are better people than to be dictated to by London'
He has been accused of trying to 'dictate' agenda in the independence vote
MP Tom Watson told MailOnline: 'Here we go again, Rupert Murdoch and his old friend Alex Salmond. Murdoch is trying to dictate the agenda'
Mr Murdoch's ancestors are from Scotland and he'd qualify for citizenship

‘Effing Tories’ give themselves a kick
The derogatory party nickname has a long and noble history. On past form, David Cameron’s epithet might well stick

Scotland panic over?

New poll shows No camp back in the lead

Survation poll shows a six-point lead for No: has Alex Salmond's Yes campaign peaked too early?

To the undoubted relief of Westminster's three musketeers - David Cameron, Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg - the latest poll on Scotland's voting intentions in next Thursday's independence referendum shows the No campaign with a clear, if modest, six per cent lead.

The three party leaders, who headed north of the border earlier today to campaign against a split in the Union, can't claim any credit. The Survation poll for the Daily Record was largely completed before the trio decided that the traditional Wednesday shouting match in the Commons - Prime Minister's Questions - was less important than saving the kingdom.

In the Daily Record, news of the poll, released tonight, shares top billing with the report of Cameron's visit to Scotland, when he told his audience: "Don't destroy the Union just to give the 'effing' Tories a kick."

Loch Ness Monster votes No, moves to England
Image

Following the news that North Korea are supporting Scottish independence, No campaigners now have something to smile about – after a creature that appears to be the Loch Ness Monster was spotted swimming in England.

The photographer, who has asked to remain anonymous, is believed to have set up his equipment in Windermere in the Lake District on Wednesday in the hope of capturing a time-lapse of the changing seasons and the lake’s native Greylag goose.

But when he looked through the images, he saw the monster-like creature.

Richard Godwin: There isn’t that much of Britain left to be saved
Our leaders have sold off so much of Britain in the past 35 years or so, it’s hard to take their idea of sovereignty seriously

Scottish independence: Ireland since 1919 is a lesson for Scotland in what a Yes vote means
The last divorce from the United Kingdom was painful and acrimonious, but ended in harmony and prosperity. So why should independence north of the border turn out any differently?

Fear and loathing in the battle for Scotland

Leading bank claims ‘Yes’ vote would result in worst depression since 1930s

With a new opinion poll showing the race is still neck and neck, the SNP’s former deputy leader Jim Sillars said pro-union companies would face “a day of reckoning” if Scotland became independent next Friday.

Mr Sillars threatened that BP’s operations in the North Sea could be nationalised and said a future Scottish Government would not be as “soft as we have been forced to be” as part of the UK.

Nationalists Issue Stark Warning To Culprits Behind 'Campaign Of Fear'

Senior unionist politicians have made emotional pleas for Scotland to stay in the UK - and have promptly been dismissed by nationalists as "Horsemen of the Naw-pocalyse" who "shall suffer" and face a "reckoning" if there is a Yes vote in the independence referendum.

Conservative chief whip Michael Gove, who was raised in Scotland, has accused nationalists of "putting the interests of those who look and speak and think like you" over the solidarity of the UK, who "mourned together" over the Lockerbie bombing, the Piper Alpha disaster, Dunblane, the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, the death of Baby Peter and the abuse in Rotherham.

But his plea failed to impress former Creation Records boss Alan McGee - the Scottish Svengali who discovered Oasis - who said unionist "scare stories" are becoming increasingly "ridiculous" and that independence would allow Scots to "kick the 'effing Tories', as the Prime Minister said so patronisingly".

Thanks to Scotland, keeping Britain in Europe just got a whole lot harder
Whatever the result, Thursday’s referendum has rewritten the political rulebook. What used to work no longer does

Scotland’s vote is not about Braveheart or kilts or tribal nationalism. It’s about democracy
The independence debate has unleashed an exhilarating democratic passion. The challenge is to sustain it

Murdoch yet to decide if he is for or against Scottish Independence

Rupert Murdoch is still ‘carefully considering’ which side to support in next week’s Scottish referendum.

His influence in any election or referendum is undeniable and his decision could play a huge role in the coming weeks .

It’s important to note that Murdoch’s papers have a tendency to back the side which has the most support, actively supports and promotes business and looks to appease his personal desires.

The controversial media mogul who owns the Scottish Sun has said that he is yet to decide which of the two camps he supports and both he and his newspaper continue to remain ‘neutral’.

He has been active on twitter in the past week or so commenting on not only the referendum, but also throwing a few jibes at Piers Morgan.

Murdoch was also spotted earlier this week in Aberdeen speaking to supports from both the Yes and the No camps as he continues to weigh up the arguments from both sides.
