ImageI thought I would just gather together the information we have been given so far.

Right, BB4 will start on Friday 23rd May (not long now!! :) ).

In the week preceding it, there will be 'The Curse of BB' on C5 - a programme about the previous years BB's.

This year, BBLB, still hosted by Dermot, will be on C4 about teatime Monday to Friday and lunchtime on Sunday and repeated later in the evening on E4.

There will be a new programme on E4 every Tuesday evening, called Nominations Uncut, which will show the housemates nominations in full.

E4 will also be featuring non stop application videos in the weeks leading up to the start (so watch out if you applied and didn't get in!!).

There will be 12 contestants (6 female and 6 male) and the prize money still stands at £70,000. The house has had a makeover, in a more open plan style and there is a new outdoor sheltered area.

There will be no gimmicks this year, such as the rich and poor side divide, but I think the producers may have a few surprises in store for us!

The shopping budget will once again depend on their weekly task, but they will have to bet at least 50%.

There is a new feature on Saturday evenings - the individual reward challenge, which will be broadcast live and gives individual housemates the chance to win some luxuries.

There will again be live streaming on E4.

Davina will continue to present the eviction shows, which will continue in the same format as usual on Friday evenings and Marcus Bentley will continue to narrate.

Well, I hope the start date is correct - I worked it out from what it says on the Endemol site HERE. It says
Quote:
Big Brother UK, number 4, will start the end of May and lasts 9 weeks, until July 25th.
- I work that out to be May 23rd to start.

Guess they'll charge - just hope they get them working BEFORE the series starts this time. Was really P'd off last year when I couldn't get Real to respond to my order for ages... That was after having to wait for C4's site to tell us where to go to sign up.

Another article about BB4 from the Borehamwood Times:-

Big Brother returns to a new look house

A few quotes taken from the article:-

Quote:
Channel 4 has signed a deal with Endemol UK, which owns the show, for three more years with the option of using the studios in Shenley Road for the duration.

Quote:
Also crowds will not be allowed immediately outside the house this year, so that when the contestants leave after eviction the first people they see will be their friends and family.

Quote:
Gigi Eligoloff explained: "Each year we look for people that are going to be different and this year we are looking for people with more of a story of tell. In my heart, I already know what 12 people I want in the house".

Quote:
Julian Bellamy, Channel 4's head of factual entertainment said: "Our aim is to make this year's Big Brother as entertaining, unpredictable and addictive as ever. There will be surprises and twists, of that you can be assured."

The house at Elstree was designed to cover 5 years of BB - it's the same shell, the contents have changed around a bit - diary room isn't under the stairs any more, moved to where the storeroom was, Bedrooms are next to each other, shower block has moved etc.

thankyou BB4 :D
I don't know why but I was under the impression they had built a totally new house somewhere else..... :-? ...I must have read it in the papers last year..something about wanting it in a secret location .
is it me or have others noticed they have made the outside walls of the house unclimbable?they kind of slope outwards...they obviously don't want a repeat of last years escape :x
