Its not been impact-making as i expected it to be. No out and out stand-out housemates. So far. The HMs seem a harmonious lot.
I loved the HMs having to nominate first night. Brilliant move. If it was a chess game, that would have been a stunner. Very insightful. Made the viewers have an impression straight away about the housemates by showing how they saw each other. And set it up for next friday at the same time.
There is a good mix in the house. Scotland, ireland, italian, indian, poland, London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, the north, south, the middle, the West. Personality-wise they are different too. Also salary and occupation backgrounds. I think there should be older housemates. But after what happened with Sandy last year, dont blame them. I mean he looked trendy and was larger than life and look what happened there. Its a good job overall, I think. A lot of effort has been put into the selection and i do think there has been an overall plan. How effective it has been remains to be seen. That arbour-thing is one mighty fine thing. So cool to have that kind of lounge setup outside. Another thing to go on my "When I get rich/ win the lottery" fantasy wish list.
As far as finding it boring, I think that you get out of it what you put in .. take this test and see if you pass .. ( i tested myself, and got 1 name switched and one i couldnt name). I think getting 10 out of the 12 is a must if you're going to consider yourself bona fide fan.
The test is: name as many of the HMs as you can without looking at that open mag in front of you with all of their names/pics etc. Answers at bottom of post. Look away now and do the test. You know you want to. I'm presuming that remembering their names means you have put SOMETHING into it.
If any ONE girls name was put forward as being the fittest in the house it would be anoushka. Both of them. Dont get me wrong Tania LOOKS fit, and Steph probably IS fit (well physically tough at least, her looks make her seem the sport-loving type , i think).
One loves the gym and the other hates it (nush prefers yoga). Anoushka, certainly is fit, those hours she spent in gym does things to the bikini she wsa wearing in the pool just now. Nush was well worth beholding, doing her yoga this morning. Was cracking myself up the way the camera-man was focusing on her hand. He seemed to have feelings for her and had forgotten that what he was watching was also something that was being shown to others ( anyone else think that ?). I found that quite funny.
Anoushka - young. She reminded me of Pocahontas for some reason even tho i hadnt seen that film. Pretty. Very. I didnt judge her on why she had been loud. All the time that she had been loud, I noticed she was also smiling a lot. I dont judge others quickly. Nor do I point out negative things in others first. In survival situations (work, etc) its a useful thing to do. But outside that its a rpulsive thing. And in men especially. It could well be that she was on a high. She looks totally different afte straightening out her hair. Some people have it in their nature to initiate bonding with someone by reviling a third party and seeing if that strikes a chord. Nasty. I think thats why others have picked up on nominating her/wanting to vote her out. Personally she hasnt grated my nerves. Its like that cheap Sunday Mirror article. There is this feeling that accusing someone of being this or that automatically makes the accuser NOT that trait. So being hateful and vile should make you less so (looking at what he practices and preaches).Bitching in men just isnt manly. There is a difference between rocognising and noting and BEING hateful.
Justine - quiet, first time away from home ( one who has never NOT talked to her twin sister for one day, ever!), probably home-sick, and its dawning that she IS in BB now and being watched & scrutinised 24/7. Comes from a close-knit home.
Federico - scottish w italian blood, also quiet, moody looks.
Scott - another quiet one, archetypal personality, seems pleasant enough.
Steph - ex-prison-guard ( cell-block H associations and that nasty university psychology experiment comes to mind), short-haired, married,
Jon - one i had strongest first impression to. but the quietness seems to be thoughtfulness ( not as in towards others, but as general thinker/observer). Maybe the best approach so far next to nush's forthright directness. Well you dont get a 70 grand a year job for nothing unless you're the kind whose mummykins and pater see to it. And when he did open his mouth it was to say something that was worth saying. Least when I was in a mind to pay attention.
Nush - aahh. the richest material for anyone whose been watching the live feeds. has balanced attitudes. one who thinks with her heart and not her head. vegeterian but eats meat now and then( gets meat-cravings every 4 months apparently). tree-hugger (a word the other anoushka used to describe some people who take up yoga). for all that, she is remarkably hang-up free. astonishing until you realise that flower-childs more than any others , have issues and hangups or are troubled by them (same thing). Yaks on incessantly but hasnt been boring. Unique style of getting to know others. Its not common to lay your head on their shoulders while finding out about them ..
. Poor Gos didnt know where to look, in fact he didnt make eye contact with her for tension-increasingly long time!. This was the first night when they were all out in the garden and the boys i the pool. Top marks for carrying it off so naturally. really quite hard to do. As Justine and steph proved. Justine didnt know how to take it ( she had both her hands on stephs arm that was around her (Justine's neck). Nush is SO into doing the emotionally-mature thing that I wonder if there has been a bad thing happen to her or she did that, would explain why she is so intense ( albeit so effortlessly). And those eyes. I like the fact she doesnt use her charms. Many as they are. Keeps racking up those plus points from me as if it was a computer arcade game.
Cameron - that accent rawks. I have no bad hang-ups about absolutely any kind of accents, and imitate a few in conversation without thinking ( favs are australian and irish both of which i find gracious and with their own gentleness and humour). maybe camerons uncommon lilts that come from being an orkneyite make it good to the ear. I can just about make out the difference between a Glaswegian and one from Edinburgh. Character-wise easy-going and if anything a bit too. Maybe staid. But the rural ones are the still-waters-run-deep kind. Probably make a rock-solid commando/marine. Ultra-dependable type. Good-natured. Thats what he seems like to me.
Tania- the one that looks like that supermodel. Another fit looker. The girls seem easy on the eye. No mingers here

Gos- chef and he looks like he can cook well too. Knowledgeable.
Ray - Young, reminds me of asif from "Britains worst driver", tho he got out early (for being a good driver).
Sissy - Red-haired, gauranteed head-turning feature for me. Liverpudlian. Social, open.
Havent made any REALLY bad points. Its much harder and more interesting to pull out the good ones.

I think the HMs ARE real people and trying to put them into semi-celebrity-status doesnt work. How or as what they should be best treated or viewed I dont know. I mean they havent really DONE anything outstanding or worth celebrating have they? I still find them fascinating nonetheless. Anywhooo.
Does anyone get TV on their PC AND have viavoice OR NaturallySpeaking coonected up? I want to get transcripts of what is being said. It is meant to be really use to do. I think. Would come in handy for lots of things. Especially arguments.
