I know I am writing about serious politics now (a dreaded subject). But I am lost and there doesn’t seem to be much information, discussion about the EU, when I watched the debate at Prime ministers question time I still didn’t learn a thing. All one watched was a school boy type argument. :8o:

I don’t know whether the country should go in to the EU or not, or if the UK should be part of European State. I have heard good points from both sides of the arguments and I am not sure what the right move is. I was therefore wondering what the majority here think.

Do we need a referendum to discuss these issues, to learn more about both sides of the arguments for the entering of the EU and change of our constitution?

Also I don’t wish to advertise any sites as such but does anyone know of a site which the European issue is being debated because I would think it is an important issue to read about and for all the arguments to debated and understood by us the laymen.

I feel personally believe the politicians are treating us like children by not having a serious debate because that is the only way we are going to know all the issues, although I am against American style presidential debates on TV, however on these issues I believe we should have one for all parties to be involved and their points across.

I am sorry to discuss serious politics on this fun site.

We're already in the EU....The 'debate' is about whether we should change the Pound for the Euro........I don't know any site's about it,I'm afraid....... ;)

Hello Michelle

The EU is one of those things were you have to read up on as much as possible.

The only problem is there is not a lot of proper information around.

Try reading news/forum sites like yahoo and annover etc where they set up debating sites and people give opinions.

You could also try contacting your local MP and asking them to pass on information or a gov. site where you can read about it.

At present there is a difference with the signing of the EU Constitution and joining the Euro.

I don't know much about it myself so it's possible I have got it all upside down but would suggest if you need info just search the news sites.

Best wishes on your jump on Saturday xxxxx
