I'm happy he is shocked at Tania's reaction!. maybe he will think twice in future before he makes crass remarks to a person he only knows for half a day.

Everyone's shocked at Tania's reaction, that a grown woman (allegedly) could get so sensitive over nothing at all. We've been saying on this board for ages how greedy she is, now one of the HMs has picked up on this and said it. 'Accurate' is the word you're looknig for, not crass.

They were ALL shocked and voiced that later in the evening, because it was a pure strop that Tania threw.
It wasnt a crass remark, and he was asked to make a remark, as were all the other HM's. Scott said she was basically scatty and she didnt say anything about that.

I think the trouble with tania, is she loves to be center of attention but only on her terms.

As I said before, I remember my mother saying, Oi you pig after catching me with my hand in the biscuit jar, as Im sure most people have been called by friends, family etc at some point when they have been "eating like a pig" its a remark that is used all around the world.

She acted childishly

Unfortunately, or fotunately depending on how you want to look at it, there are people like Tania and Gue.

A girl who hasn't had to work for anything she owns, has no sense of reality and how some people have to struggle to live day-to-day while all she has to bother about is her make-up bag!

And a guy, who we already know (by all the reports from BBA) will sniff around anything in a skirt if he thinks he'll get his end away, with no manners.

These people aren't unique, there are thousands like them throughout the world.

I do think, though, that if he had accused Nush of being "piggy", "piggish" or simply a "pig" then people may have found it slightly more offensive. And I'm sure those boring, turgid male housemates would perhaps have been a little more bothered if it had been Gos.

OK, you're wrong though. The bloke made it clear he wasn't being offensive but stroppy Tania made sure it looked like it.

They might talk to their women like that were he comes from, we don't do it here. Well, not if you have good manners you dont.

Whilst we don't want to look like we're picking on you Madeline, Jon and I both picked up on this as a racist remark. I slapped down new member Prof Snape when he made a similar offensive post and I don't see why you should be treated any differently. Out of order Madeline.

When someone makes a comment about "where someone comes from" it doesn't necessarily mean they are racist.

I agree it could be taken in that context but it can also be used as a geographical comment.

People say things like "where I come from", when they are talking about the city or town they grew up in, all the time.

I take your point spacelad but in this case it came across as a deflamitory remark about where he comes from. Town/city/country makes no odds, its still a form of racism.

I think if Tania had been even the slightest bit overweight, then she would've had every right to be deeply offended by the Pig remark, she handled it badly and immaturely.

Maybe it is guilt over the fact that she knows she has been "piggish" with the food (not only her Nush is as bad) and in rationed conditions as they have been living in.

Maybe it hit home because she knows its true?? And she is venting her anger at herself onto Gae?

its a thought.

She did eat rather piggily at the dinner party in the Reward Room and I don't mean the amount she ate (sure she had more or less the same to eat as everyone else there) but the WAY she ate it was piggy, if we're going to talk about bad manners we should start with Tania.

If she had a sense of humour, they could get her to replace the brother eating cereal like a pig on the O2 ads ::lol::
