...that it's been a winning formula. The old chiche of if "it aint broke, don't fix it" rules the BB towers, but it aint so much broke, just not working as well as it used to.

It's inevitable after having the same format for 4 years. It needs a major rethink by the producers.

Having had 4 yrs of BB, there's plenty of public opinion to fall back on. C4 should find out what viewers want, and do that accordingly.

Could it be an idea for them to get a shortlist of 120 next year, form 12 groups of 10, stick each group in a house for a week, and pick the best one?

Well, it's t hat sort of thinknig that would help, but remember part of BBs novelty is that the people don't know each other, so sticking 12 people who have already formed first impressions in a house wouldn't be much good. If they were to use it to pick the best HM from each group, that might not be so bad, if probably not very feasible.

if they picked the best of each group., then no house mate would know each other, and C4 could select on how people react in a house rather than via a 10 minute promo

Don't they test people out at mini taks in groups though several times, which is reasonably similar.
Actually, I don't think this years HMs have talked nearly as much as last years about their process for being picked. Jonny last year went on and on and on about it (as he had a habit of doing)
